How to determine Your Active Duty Retirement

  • Published
Commanders- Over the years, we've received a number of requests from members asking how to compute active duty retirement. Some interpret it to be 7,200 points and others 7,300 points (365 x 20 years) is the key denominator and it is not.

An active duty retirement is based on service, 20 years of Total Active Federal Military Service (years, months and days). Please go to this link http://arpc.afrc.af.mil/retirements/agrretire.asp
for some commonly asked questions and associated answers that show how service is calculated when a member performs a number of short tours of active duty. Bottom line an active duty retirement is based on service and not points.
