Children of Air Reserve Personnel Center employees packed the parking lot here for their share of candy and fruit snacks during ARPC's first trunk or treat event Oct. 30, 2014.

The ARPC booster club sponsored the event, which drew more than 100 children who got a chance to view Halloween themes from 18 vehicles on display.

"We couldn't have done it without the men and women of ARPC volunteering to decorate their trunks and bringing their children out," said Kristy Thurman, APRC reserve service programs technician and booster club treasurer. "It was a great time for all who were able to come."

The success of this year's event was impressive and bodes well for future trunk or treat events here, said Tech. Sgt. Amy Szpak, ARPC retirements service team technician and booster club secretary.

"This event was great. There was a lot of participation, which helped make this event as spectacular as it was," Szpak said. "We had three judges who dressed up to help get in the spirit. They judged best children's costume as well as best trunk. For our first trunk or treat, it was a hit. I can definitely see it being done next year, but on a much bigger level."

The winners were:
Best Trunk
Debbie Netters, ARPC financial management technician

Best Older Children
Braedyn Martin
Barrett Martin
McKinlee Ruskamp
, niece of Patricia Quisenberry, ARPC pre-trained individual manpower management division chief

Best Younger Child
Jaxson Jones, son of Staff Sgt. Taleen Collins, ARPC DD 214 technician

The ARPC booster club also includes Master Sgt. Justin Jump, booster club president, and Tech. Sgt. Shakenna Godbee, booster club vice president.
