More than 150 service members, civilians and their families attended the Air Reserve Personnel Center's commander's fitness and funfest here June 30, 2014.

The event, sponsored by the ARPC Booster Club with the assistance of the Junior Enlisted Advisory Council and Top 3 highlighted the commander's physical fitness enhancement program's winning team for the April through June quarter and served as this year's picnic. It was organized by Staff Sgt. Iris Morales on behalf of the Booster Club and with the assistance of Master Sgt. Justin Jump, Master Sgt. Rachel Forman and Ms. Debbie Netters.

Brig. Gen. Samuel "Bo" Mahaney, ARPC commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Ruthe Flores, ARPC command chief, presented "The Paper Pushers" team a medal and the ARPC Thundering Herd award. The herd award is a rotating trophy awarded to the team captain denoting the team's name as winner of the quarter.

"The objective of the commander's physical fitness enhancement program is to encourage ARPC staff to develop a plan where people can have fun while working with colleagues to improve their fitness assessment scores or overall health," said Morales, ARPC contact center technician. "Teams were comprised of 10 members, regardless of directorate to encourage cross-directorate team-building, as well as a competitive spirit."

Activities at the funfest included a 3-kilometer run, dunk tank, a bounce house for children and interactive games including volleyball, bocce ball and horseshoes.
