Application deadline for joint credit approaching

  • Published
The Sept. 30 deadline to apply for joint credit is fast approaching.

Air Force Reserve officers who have joint experience not already reflected as Joint Duty Assignment List positions must submit their application by Sept. 30 to capture all joint experience for retroactive credit and points.

After Sept. 30, the only non-JDAL experience applications that will be accepted are joint experience completed within one year. After one year, members will be ineligible for award of joint experience credit or points and there will be no retroactive application process.

Qualifying joint experience may include joint assignments, strategic planning, joint exercises, deployments such as Operation Enduring Freedom, and joint education and training. Officers who feel they have gained strategic level joint experience should review the joint officer management handbook found on the myPers website.

The myPers website has detailed information on Total Force Joint Officer Management (JOM) under the Force Development link including Air Force Reserve Command's JOM nomination instructions and the link for the self-nomination website. Members can use the "Contact Us" link in myPers to submit questions.

Questions should be directed to the Total Force Service Center - Aurora at 800-525-0102.
