The 927th Mission Support Group at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, was awarded the Tech. Sgt. Anthony C. Campbell Jr. trophy in recognition of being the best mission support group in the 4th Air Force during the Raincross Trophy Award Dinner Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, here.

"This award is for all the members of the mission support group and the great things they do every day," commented Col. Dennis L. Seymour, commander of the 927th Mission Support Group.

The Tech. Sgt. Anthony C. Campbell Jr. Trophy was one of four awards presented at the ceremony.

"This year's selection process was among the most competitive, with each wing submitting high quality nomination packages", said Lt. Col. C.J. Bentley, process manager assigned to the 4th Air Force.

The Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce Military Affairs Committee hosted the 16th Annual Raincross Trophy Dinner at the Riverside Convention Center, which was attended by commanders and command chiefs representing each wing in the numbered Air Force, as well as local community leaders and elected officials.

The Raincross Trophy was reinstated in 1998 after the 4th Air Force headquarters relocated from McClellan Air Force Base, California to March ARB.

"The competition for these awards is really a matter of pride in the 4th Air Force," said Maj. Gen. John C. Flournoy, Jr., commander of the 4th Air Force. "The decision is never easy because each wing has a unique mission set. Every wing is performing far above expectations."

The other units that were awarded during the ceremony were:

The 439th Airlift Wing at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts was awarded the 2015 Raincross Trophy

The 315th Airlift Wing at Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina was presented the Aircrew Excellence Award.

The 434th Air Refueling Wing, Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana earned the Chief Master Sgt. James K. Clouse Trophy for maintenance excellence.
