Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force James A. Cody visited the Air Reserve Personnel Center and spoke with Airmen here March 5, 2015.

Cody's visit focused on the future of the Air Force as he spoke to Airmen and hosted a senior enlisted call where he discussed his role and priorities.

He thanked the members on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James, and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh and his wife Betty Welsh.

"It's real important for you to know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. We ask a lot of you, we ask for a lot of commitment and a lot of sacrifice," Cody said. "We are a professional force and we have to move forward. We owe it to those who continue to serve and serve into the future."

Cody also wished to extend his appreciation and gratitude to service members' families.

"Personally, I ask you to tell them what they are doing and what they're enduring is not lost on anybody. They endure more than you do because you get the privilege every day to put this uniform on," Cody explained. "In many cases your family has had to put their lives on hold so you could serve your country. All they have to do is choose to love you and stick by you. That's a different level of commitment and sacrifice."

While he was here, Cody met with service members and civilians from the assignments, personnel transformation and future operations and integration directorates, as well as the readiness integration organization and the promotion board secretariat.

Chief Master Sgt. Ruthe Flores, ARPC command chief, said what it meant to have Cody visit the center this week.

"Chief Cody is the first chief master sergeant of the Air Force to visit ARPC, which speaks volumes of leadership's dedication to the total force effort," Flores said.

She also thanked the ARPC Airmen from all four components, active, Guard, Reserve and civilian, who made it possible to show Cody what ARPC is doing for the Airmen in the Air Force.

"Our Airmen delivered the ARPC message with enthusiasm and pride in ownership of the services they provide every day. Our commander, Brig. Gen. Samuel 'Bo' Mahaney, and I already know how incredible they are, so the success of this visit was not a surprise."
